High School (7-10)
In High School Mathematics at LDHS students learn how to use mathematics to solve problems, recognise patterns, represent and interpret data and perform calculations in real world scenarios. Our model of mathematics teaching is based on continuum learning, providing differentiated tasks to every student at the point of need. Learning is extended and enriched through self-paced tasks of increasing complexity and each student is provided with practice and support on mathematical concepts they have not yet mastered.
We use Brightpath assessment data to enable us to deliver individualised learning to all students. Students cultivate a growth mindset and we work with students to support their achievement. Our mission is to inspire a love of mathematics, to grow critical and creative thinking and personal and social capabilities through regular rich tasks and group work.
