COMPULSORY ATTENDANCE
The Education Act requires that all students must attend school daily until the end of the year the student turns 17.
Students who attend school 90% or more of the time are given every opportunity to achieve success now and for their future aspirations. ‘Every Day Counts’
PUNCTUALITY- LATENESS
It is essential that students be at school by 8:30am each day. They must also ensure that they are prompt to all classes. Early morning fitness occurs between 8.30-8.40am each morning then students return to their classrooms to begin their learning.
ABSENCE
Absences for part of the day, all day, or for several days, must be covered by a written explanation or a phone call from the parent or guardian. These notes must be dated and specify the reasons for the absence/s. They should be brought to school by the student returning from a period of absence, and handed in to the Class Teacher or the front office. Where a student is absent for a prolonged period of time, parents should contact the school as soon as possible.
REPORTING AN ABSENCE

LEAVING THE SCHOOL GROUNDS
Students needing to leave the school grounds during the school day must report to the front office, where a parent or guardian will be asked to give permission for the student to leave. Students should also sign in when returning to school.
High School students are awarded the privilege of a Lunch Pass if they have Good Standing (80% attendance and no major negative behaviours). This privilege can be revoked if students lose their Good Standing or return Late back to school after using the pass upon more than 2 occasions without a reasonable cause.
